Once upon a time I was looking at a small child playing on a blossoming field of flowers among ancient trees under the clear blue sky, and I asked myself a question: why is it that we, the adults, use a lot of big words to talk about the necessity of taking care of nature, about responsible interaction with the world around us and each other… When we continue to allow the barbaric cutting of forests and polluting of water with pesticides, production of inedible foods, and poisoning of the atmosphere? What would that child think when he grows up, if the place where as a child he watched beautiful butterflies, would have withered grass, brown from industrial waste stream, and dead withered stumps? How would we be able to look into his eyes?!

Like most people, I want to live in a society that is responsible for its actions and not only with beautiful words and slogans, but above all, with real actions. I want to eat organic food, drink clean water, and breathe fresh air. I want to use the products and services of socially responsible companies that think not only about immediate profit, but also about the consequences of their actions. I want to receive more information and gain knowledge about the environment, principles of sustainable development, and green innovations. I want to share my own experience in this field. With my initiatives and daily choices I want to influence others in a positive way. I want to have a permanent opportunity to communicate with caring people who think alike.


Obviously it is hard for one person or a small group of people to solve such grand problems. But any change is possible and effective when a critical mass of ideas, desire, and action accumulates. I shared my thoughts with like-minded people and found that there are a lot of us – those who want to make this world a better place! It became clear that there is an urgent need to unite forces to create a synergetic effect that can actively support the sustainable development of mankind for the sake of a better future for all of us.

And so that our desires are not left as empty fantasies, a decision was made to create an online platform that would tackle the problems of both global and local realization of opportunities and needs of socially responsible people and organizations that share eco values. That is how in September 2012 the Eco Social Community, or in short – GreenOffOn – was born.

• Keep yourself updated daily on world and local green news (Green News)

• Find a friend or a group of like-minded people in your region or anywhere in the world, discuss topics of interest, establish permanent connections, support initiatives, develop a partnership (Green Community);

• Easily and quickly convey products or services to a target audience and receive feedback in order to satisfy a particular demand (Green Market);

When you become a member of the Eco Social Community, you can create your own profile, have blogs and forums, share comments, create groups for like-minded people, initiate and actively participate in the discussion of any issues, post information, present goods and services or buy them online or at the GreenOffOn booth at various expos and conferences, share photos, and organize webinars and workshops.

The GreenOffOn team of like-minded people is open to all points of view, and the more relevant opinions, the better for every one and for all would be the solution. We believe that the Community members are sensible and progressive people who are able to decide which way to develop, what’s more interesting and necessary. There is a demand to add Green Home Exchange to our platform? Excellent! Is it necessary to create the Green Social Responsibility to work together to help the sick, children in need, and the nature? Our goal is to create conditions for the Eco Social Community to grow, develop popular and reliable means to support the realization of opportunities and needs of each member. We plan to continually improve the functionality of the portal, making it more convenient and reliable, add new sections, which the Eco Social Community finds useful, and develop a mobile version (through which it would be easy to find nearby stores with organic produce, connect with interesting people on the spot, find restaurants that use locally grown food, and other amazing perks!). We also want to provide opportunity for other green projects to get support and take off by attracting financing and investments through our online platform. These and many more plans require a lot of work and time. That is why we need your help.
